Build your own tilt-shift lens · Jun 5, 08:35 PM by Simon Mackie
Here’s a pretty cool DIY project: build your own tilt-shift lens. Similar in principle to lensbabies, this project will let you create your own homemade tilt-shift lens. A commercial tilt-shift lens will run to well over $1000, so this is a good cheap alternative: all you’ll need is a lens (from a medium format camera – a normal 35mm lens won’t work, but you can pick them up cheaply on eBay), a body cap, and a sink plunger. The example image at the end of the tutorial is quite impressive, check it out. The example tutorial is on a Nikon, but it should work on any body.
