Olympus E-330 EVOLT Review on DPReview · Mar 20, 11:29 AM by Simon Mackie

Olympus has a brand new D-SLR camera, the E-330 Evolt. Based on the Four Thirds system like their previous D-SLR cameras, this one is interesting as it has a “live view” function which enables you to use the flip out LCD scren on the back of the camera while shooting – a common featuire of point n shoots, but previously unavialable due to the mirror on SLRs. Phil Askey over at DPReview already has one of his mega-reviews up. You can check it out here. In summary, it’s not good news for Olympus – the camera is not as good as the E-500 (Olympus’s more traditional D-SLR) and costs a bit more, and the live view feature is not something he can see a lot of photographers going for. However, it’s great to see innovation in cameras, especially when it comes from a company other than Canon and Nikon, and it’s great to see Olympus still going after this market.
